    Hewlet packard CM 6040

    Hi All

    Ricoh trained engineer here. customer has asked me to look at a CM6040 machine

    when switched on machine turns over as if starting up then does nothing, display panel dead etc. customer spoke with there help desk he has taken the controller board out and cleaned the dims etc.

    Any ideas

    its memory problem which is located on a formatter board on the back side of the machine..you just need to replace the memory thats all.

        no. dimm,after you remove your formatter board..its right under your hard drive for you to be able to get to it you'l need to remove the hard drive 1st then get to the dimm...order it from any hp parts provider

              Have had this twice and both times it was the DC controller board.

                    The memory DIMM on the formatter causes that. Change it and away you go.

                      Just had this exact same issue. Ordered the Formatter, Op Panel, and Dimm ... replaced all in one go ... no change.

                      Out of mild desperation to get customer back online after waiting for parts, I read this thread and fitted all the old units back into m/c but installed the new Dimm ... m/c boots up as normal and everything works.
