    Laser Jet M1536dnf MFP

My customer bought one of these on line from HP. The document feeder does not feed paper. After reboot, the pick up assembly stays down and does not lift to the proper starting position. There is not any drive on the rollers when the start key is pressed. It says something like check pick up rollers. The drive seems to come from a sub assembly but I did not have the star head screw type screw driver to open it. Are these special HP tools or can I get them at a hardware store? Also, anybody seen this problem?
    Thanks in advance.

If they just bought this thing send it back to hp for exchange; If its out of warranty Replace the whole adf assembly no parts are available accept rollers.

HP told them they are out of warranty. Wants to sell them a new one even though it's not that old. Any idea on part number and cost? Are those a common driver set they use?
      Thanks in advance

Im gonna say replace it then cause the assembly will cost you more than the machine is worth plus your time.

If you want to repair go here...

You should advise them to get more of a heavy duty MFP. You get what you pay for is the saying... and create a sale for yourself/company!

Thanks for info. I tried, but they went cheap and now they will have to spend twice as much or live with it.

You can probably get those screwdrivers at a place like cyberguys.com or geeks.com or at a specialty tool supplier, look online. Try Milestek at 1-800-524-7444 I know they will have them.

Thanks Paul. I have not seen those before on a copier, but I generally stay away from those cheap HP multifunctions.
