have the hp clj cm6040mfp giving an error code 30.0.08, it happen in the morning when the customer first turns on printer. i have not seen it yet. but in the last 3 days customer says it has happen about 10 times. had customer unplug printer for one hour and when it was turned on she got the code, but when turned off and on the printer came to ready. i am thinking home position sensor or related part. i checked the scanner lock and it is ok and not touching scanner. any thoughts?

I would clean the sensor and if that didn't do it, I would probably try the scanner motor. Hate those intermittant problems like that, would be nice if it just went out completely so you could find out what it is easily. -

Did you ever find the fix for this. A coworker has one doing this now and wondering what you found.Comment

Re: clj cm6040mfp error code 30.01.08
this problem can be caused (depending on the amount of copies/prints) by the grease on the carrage rail (long metal bar the carriage assembly (scanner) moves across) drying out.
when the machine is first switched on the carriage assembly moves back and forth a few time to calabrate. the grease in this area (the first 2 or 3 inches) can dry out and cause the carraige to studder or shake when it tries to move. this will result in a scanner lock error.
remove the glass and grease the rail all the way along, all the way around and it should be fine.Comment

Re: clj cm6040mfp error code 30.01.08
the rail is a prime candidate for this fault. also something else I have come accross was the white ref plate under the glass getting dirty (think it can give a different issue mind?!)
hope you have got to the bottom of this?Comment
