    Laser Jett 1000

I have a customer tha loves his Laser Jett 1000. The printer has no power. I replaced the mother board and still no power.
Front door does make switch on mother board. Any other ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks, and I know the printer should be retired, but the customer seem to like it.

Perhaps the power cord or it's connections are bad? They do wear out over time. Or the voltage coming out of the wall socket is wrong? Hopefully not like the worst time I encountered that and I got an uncomfortable shock the first time I touched bare metal on that machine even though the machine was off.

You use the term motherboard which is not used by HP on this equipment. Did you change the ECU (Engine Control Unit)? Or the formatter? I assume you are referring to the ECU which also includes the low voltage power system. It is the board on the bottom of the unit in which the power cable plugs into.

When you power on the device do you hear any fans or motors turning. Does the fuser get warm. Bad power cable or surge or outlet?

Hi you are right I replaced the ECU , swapped power cords, and checked interlocks. No motors turn and the fuser does not heat up.

Are the fuser levers up? Motors correctly mounted? Have check the wiring for pinches?

Just to follow up I ended up replacing machine with HP 1200. Copier is now on junk pile.
