Hi Guys

I have a customers thats about 200km away from here. His problem is when he tries to send a fax he gets a service error 409 and then the machine resets. I have helped him to update the firmware over the phone. i have not seen it happened. I am going on the work of the customer. I can not find anything in the service manual about a error 409.

Any ideas??

I found this for you... Its from a different HP MFP model but normally errors are pretty uniformed..Hope it helps..

"An error occurred during a V.34 transmission when the local machine was unable to correctly handshake with the remote machine and was consequently unable to transmit a T30 frame. This occurs when the line was disconnected or if line conditions degrade during the session.

Solution:

Reattempt the fax transmission at a different time when telephone line conditions have improved."

Phone lines have a lot to do with fax problems. Does this happen every time or just when he faxes to one customer only? Could be the machine he is trying to fax to?
