    HP CM6040F MFP No BLue

    Hi all,

I know I have seen this before, but can't remember where

I have a CM6040F MFP that is not printing any CYAN.

I ran a color band test page and I am not getting any CYAN.

I know that the machine has a new Cyan Toner and Drum (the EU installed them within the last 5 days).

What can cause this issue on these machines.

I have already tried a new toner cartridge and still no joy.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

    Update on Issue,

I ran full calibration on machine, still no joy,

Installed new ITB they had ordered, still no joy.

I printed the Print Quality test pages and I am getting NO CYAN on anything.

anything else I am missing here on what else to check??

    Thanks again in advance.

      2nd Update on issue:

Tried trick from youtube with the drum to resolve issue, (rotating white gear on back of drum 2 full rotations counter clockwise).

Still did not resolve issue, still NO Cyan on docs.

Ran Supplies status page, it shows 100% toner and 95% on drum available. so its not a drum or toner issue.

What else could I check to determine why I am not getting any Blue printing on my documents.

As always thanks for all the help and ideas.

        Thinking I figured it out.

After much trying and reading, it appears that the "New Drum" that the EU installed is defective.

I noticed that when I tried to rotate the gear on the back of the drum, it was really hard to turn.

I was following the t-shooting steps from the HP site and I noticed that there was a lot of toner buildup on the seal where the toner comes from the cartridge into the drum unit.

Also noticed that the gate was not properly responding to the gear mechanism.

Installed another new drum and Voila, we have Cyan on the pages now!!!

Sure was a headache to figure out!

Those drum units are apparently pretty sensitive to being handled improperly.
But, at least you only had to go through one drum unit before you figured that out. Took me three.

You'd think that since they are handled by the EU's most of the time, that they would make them a bit more durable.

Oh well, I only have to make it last until about March, then its being replaced with a Xerox!!!!
