    clj 2840 with error 59.C0

Customer was getting half prints and less. I took machine apart and did carousel alignment with the gears and when i put it back together got error 59.C0. When first turn machine on there is a sort of motor sound like from stress. Last for few seconds then a little whole after get the error code. I will retrace my steps but thought I should post this in meantime.
I have had this machine apart 3 times and it's a headache. I also had a little difficulty getting drum unit out as it appears customer had it in wrong. Frank/ActionPhotocopy

On these you need to either replace the "Carousel solenoid" or clean the old foam off and install electrical tape to it because it's sticking.
I would do that and look for something you may have left disconnected or it may me a bad toner.

Thank you bill. I had initially taken out the solenoid and cleaned of and replaced the insulation and never got the error 59.C0 before that or right after doing that. I was still getting the the half images and just yellow on a few. I checked the alignment gears and they were out of alignment. After aligning the gear and reassembling I then got the error 59.C0.
One thing I noticed later was that I had reversed the flat ribblon cable on the memory card assembly. When i first turn machine on the carousel does not turn but makes a brief motor sound and then goes into initialization stage and comes up with the error 50.C0.
I guess i will have to take it apart again to retrace my steps and see why carousel does not turn at power on. Frank

Try this :take apart all cartridges and after that put them in order on carousel,if the carousel fall down because of weight of one or two cartridges installed then for sure the solenoid is in engagedment position or stick...I had this problem on a LBP 2410,I removed the old material and replace it with a piece of thin plastic,a little noisey after but it worked
Defects are simple, our mind is complicated

It's not the solenoid. I double-checked it and activated manually while cheating top cover switch. Carousel is in alignment. Maybe pinched wire or something like that. When machine is off and i manually engage solenoid the carousel moves quite freely. When i release the carousel stays in place as it is supposed to. Frank
