HP CLJM6040 MFP replace black toner

Hi all,

I have a HP CLJ CM6040 that is telling me to replace black toner, eventhough I have put brand new cartridge in it.

Shows in supplies that cartridge is full, but still wants it replaced.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is going on?

Thanks in advance for all help and ideas.

FYI We have tried multiple new cartridges, all to no avail.

Howdy. There shall be a mode where you can turn off the machine asks for new toner

Tried that already, that only allows temporary override of low toner, when it gets to point cartridge has to be replaced, it will not override anymore.

Appreciate the suggestion.

Did you cycle the power after replacing the cartridge?

Yep,

Also tried to disable cartridge checking.

Decided on a whim to see if replacing the drum would resolve issue.

Issue appears to have been a faulty drum (although it was new),

Copier is functioning properly for now. lol
