    HP Laserjet M475DN Scanning/copying defects

    Hi everyone.

Got a minor issue with a HP Laserjet Pro M475DN; Specifically when scanning/copying.

I've uploaded an example of the issue.

After an undetermined period of time (Greater than a couple of weeks) scanned/copied images on the Platen/ADF come out with repeated lines.

If we do a factory reset, the issue disappears for a while, before it comes back.

I was thinking it's a firmware issue... as it disappears after a factory reset.

    Any ideas?

It's easy enough to update the firmware, so do that first.
But it kind of looks like you might need a new scanner unit.
If you can figure out how the scanner comes apart, a good blast from a can of air could take care of that. I've found disassembling HP scanners annoying, but in most cases not impossible.

Those were my two thoughts as well. This MFP isn't very high volume, so to big man won't be very keen on a whole new scanner unit.

I'll try and find some firmware for it. Cheers, Iowa.

Its also easy to get firmware, at least for the HP equipment I've worked on so far, because the firmware can be found on the consumer side of HP's website, HP .

Done and dusted. I like the way they firmware their machines too. Through the print driver. Like an I.V but for software.

Now to wait to see if the issue comes back in.

          Thanks again Iowa.

That is neat how the firmware updates.
Glad that helped, I hope that does fix the problem.
