I have to replace the High-Voltage power supply on an HP LJ M4555. Anyone ever done this? The manual doesn't have directions. Looks like I'll have to strip it down to the very base, so if anyone knows something that would help me... :>

You know this thing looks just like the 4345 never did a 4555 but they are close; Gotta remove the scanner. I would replace the swingplate/fuser drive stuffIzzy -

Re: High-Voltage power supply on HP LJ M4555
Cust just called and changed their mind. Will be replacing this board as soon as it arrives. Will post how it goes.
BTW - This all started because the machine had no power when the switch was turned on. No fans or lights or anything. I found a fuse that was blown in the board that has the AC plug on it... I think that's the DC controller, but I'm not sure. Anyway, I replaced that fuse and plugged it in, and a loud bright spark happened on the HVPS (I could see it). I haven't taken it out yet, but I will next week. Maybe something is laying there making a short.
Anyway, if you ever have a M4555 with no power, there are two fuses behind the formatter holder that can cause that.
Just thought I would document this for anyone who might come across the same problem.Comment

Update:
Replaced HVPS (at least a 2 hr job for me) and everything works... kinda.
Now there's an intermittent blur toward the trailing edge of prints.
I'm gonna start a new thread about that, because I can't figure out what's doing it.Comment
