    HP CP3505x Colors misaligned

I just installed a new fuser and transfer belt. Customer prints a certain documents and the colors are slightly misaligned. I did a full color calibration and still same results. I ran some RGB color samples page and most every patch is out of alignment slightly.

Then I print an Event log and it is swarmed with the error "Halftone calibration error" (37 times) all the way back since Mar 21 is the last recorded error. So it looks like it has happened well before I replaced parts. There are also 4 times today after the calibration that came with the error "CPR sensor out of range" followed by two more Halftone calibration error.

Thinking of trying a firmware update and run calibration few more times. Anyone else have any thoughts. Not sure if I'm looking at NVram error. Thinking of also trying a cold reset.

your color plane registration sensor and halftone sensor (usually on the same part) could be bad, using generic toner,(had it happen on some hp 4700, customer was buying generic toner carts and colors wouldn't align and there were half tone errors and cpr errors.) On this style of printer the sensors should be on top of the feed unit . open front door , remove transfer belt you should see the sensors on top of feed unit. It could be formatter or dc controller, I think dc controller runs color reg.

      I got it sorted.

I found that it was cyan and magenta that was shifted slightly to the right. With disable cart check I swapped carts and the problem did not follow the cartridge. These are OEMs.

Firmware and Full calibrated did not help. I tried Full calibrate about 4 times total. I finally stumbled onto "Reset Calibration" in the menus. After choosing this it reset and then ran a full calibration and this fixed it right up. I cleared the event log and decided to not touch anything else. Hopefully it stays working.
