[Error Code] Lj 9040 error code 10.10.0 ctg error

This printer has had intermentant ctg error codes 10.10.0. they use OEM ctgs only and it can happen with new out of the box ctgs. If I reinstall the old or new ctg it may work for a week to a month then comes back. I have tried to clean every thing in the contact area and it still comes and goes.
    Thank You
    Gar

If you can, you might want to be a bit more specific about the machine you are working on (color, MFD?). There are a number of different HP machines that wear the badge "LJ 9040" after all.
    Thanks.

This is going to sound really stupid, but how good is the voltage supplied from the outlet the machine is plugged into?
It sounds like the parts are good, and the machine is OK when you are done working on it, so maybe it is time to see if something other than the machine is causing the problem?
Sorry if that was a waste of time.

the printer is at the power company, I would hope they keep the best electrons for themselfs. that aside I have put them on a 15amp power cord vrs the 10 amp cord they were using. I am thinking of trying the sensing circurt that links with the Ctg for info. it is a radio wave type device and I wonder if it has just degraded. it looks like 1 part just presses near the chip on the ctg, and that sensor links to a small board. I am thinking of just replacing both as the shotgun approche to this intermentant problem. Thanks for confirming my thought on the power, I may ask them to monitor their line at the printer. could be the "machanics car" thing.
          Thanks
Gar the Pilot, and yesterday was a nice day to fly.
