    hp m4345

    hello everyone,

need help with hp m4345. copying from top glass or adf and prints are very light. i replaced new toner and tried replacing toner from another machine that has good printouts but problem is the same, light copies and prints, even if i adjust it to the darkest. i've cleaned the top glass and did scanner calibration. do you think this is a laser problem? what else do i need to do? please help.

So when you print a config sheet, that's light also. What I mean is, it's not just stuff from the glass? Not just copies, but anything printed?

Check if the economode setting is on. It can make prints look very faint. Also try an engine test if it comes out ok its a formatter or setting issue. If it is bad then you can look at hvps, laser unit etc.

Yeah, my first guess would be transfer.

Transfer roller is first bet, possible dirt on laser glass also can cause this. I would try those two first
