[Electrical] HP LaserJet 3380 Scanner Bulb Warming Up Error

I have a HP LaserJet 3380 using PCL5-e that intermittantly displays "Scanner Bulb Warming Up" on display. This only happens during Copy/Scan mode. The lamp is fully light and moves off the home position slightly during "warming the bulb" cycle.

After a period of some 5-6 mins the machine times out and the display reads" Scanner error turn machine off/on."

All printing from this machine works fine.

As I said the "scanner bulb warming error" only happens intermittantly, ie once a week.

    tnx.

    ------ Update -----
There appears to be a previous CTN post covering this topic.
I will try the current solution in the previous post.

You can try cleaning the scanner but I've had no luck when getting this, the solution is replacing the whole scanner assembly or replacing the unit.
