HP 9050MFP with several vertcal black smudged lines.

It looked like an obvious fuser problem smearing the print in vertical lines. However it is not the cartridge or fuser assy. Some of the lines are only an inch apart. There is at least two on every page. Wherever there is black on the prints it extends a black line down the page. The only thing I can think of that can put lines that close together is the transfer roller. They are too close to be from the drum or fuser. I thought maybe the registration roller was misfeeding but that is not the answer either. It looks like a drive problem causing the image to hesitate with a slight smear. Sometimes there are only two lines, sometimes as many as six lines. It does it printing or copying. Any ideas?

It was the transfer roller assy. I put in a new one and all the lines were gone. The old one looks fine. Beats me!

Those transfer & reg assemblies cause all kinds of problems on the 9050s.
