[Misc] Tray 2 overfilled or empty or lifting or open

Have had this issue come and go for a little over 6 months now. When first encountered I tried swapping trays 2 and 3 to see if followed the cassette. Nope. Next, performed firmware update. Nope. Next replaced the paper feed unit for tray 2. Nope. Next replaced the lift motor. Nope. Next replaced the dc controller. Nope. Next replaced the formatter. This worked for about 3 months and then started again. I have not done a hdd format or partial clean. Would like some ideas if anyone else has had this same issue.

It turned out to be the paper size detector behind the cassette had some bad switches that would not stay closed causing the machine to think the tray was being opened and closed multiple times when it wasn't. Replaced this and all is good again.

you took a simple fix and made it a high $ repair. remember the KISS principle? MOST times it will be a $3 part not a 300$ part.
