The printer is an HP LaserJet 8000. The error is a 79 00fe. If the network cable is disconnected I can print self-tests. Once the network cable is connected and I get data in from the network, I get the error. Sometimes it will print a few pages and get the error, but most of the time it will finish printing half the page before the error occurs. The manual says it is a formatter board error so I changed that. I still got the error so I changed the network board (it is separate on this model). Still got the error. Any help out there on this?

Have you tried a new network cable, network port or doing a crossover to a laptop. Rule out the users network. -

Possibly a PDF problem? Make sure the firmware is up to date, and you might see if there's a correlation between the size of the job and the error. Also:
