I have a hp laserjet 2840 its displaying scanner error 5 I have cleaned the scanner unit the problem still gos back I have changed the scanner motor still the problem is there please advise

Reseat all the connectors going to the scanner. Also, check the ground wire for the scanner. I think the ground wire is somewhere near the scanner motor, and goes to the printer frame. Look for corosion around it. After that, you're either looking at a scanner unit or a board.

Hy please the stepping motor the one that moves the scanner,its on your right handside when u open the flatbed
