My solution for this is to bend the armature--so that it doesn't quite come into contact with the magnet. Actually--I do this every time I pull the padding off solenoids.

I have in the past attached some mylar with double sided tape so that the arm. doesn't contact solenoid, seemed to work pretty good.

If you have one of these that jams a lot when feeding from tray 2, pull the right hand cover off and observe the solenoid that controls the feed roller in tray 2. In my case the body of the solenoid had become magnetized to the point the armature wouldn't release in time to stop the feed roller from rotating.
Heh, when I disassembled that solenoid, the magnetism in the body of the solenoid was strong enough to pick up the solenoid's tension spring. Even when the machine was unplugged.
I'm not sure what to do about this though. While in the illustrated parts breakdown in the manual I have that solenoid has an item number, there wasn't a part number for that solenoid in the parts list. I ended up wrapping the solenoid's armature with a couple of layers of tape, which seems to work pretty well. I don't think that is a permanent solution, or at least not a very good one though.
Still, maybe someone will find this useful.
