Hi there,
I just purchased an HP Officejet J6480 All-in-One printer/scanner/copier/fax for work.
I have been trying to set up the type of file type and size for the scanned images. Now...I know .tiff files are usually huge, but I have to scan into that file type for the type of images I have to upload for work. My question is this -- anyone know how I can make the SIZE smaller? I'm not sure if I'm explaining this right.
For example, I'm comparing the size of a document I scanned with my old scanner (another HP all-in-on) to this one. Same (supposedly) settings -- 200 DPI, grayscale output, .tiff compressed. In my old printer, this particular document saved in around 750 Kb....now, with the exact same settings (at least I've tried to make them the same), it's saving as 3 MB. HOW and WHERE can I fix this? I've tried under the scanner software settings....I've looked everywhere I can think of but it's still saving larger. What can I do?
I hope someone can decipher this. Sorry for my ineptness.
