Hp OJ Pro 4600 remove paper jam

I was called out today to repair an hp oj pro 4600 for a constant jam error. I cleaned the printer, made sure the jam switch, in the turn over section was in place and working properly, I even blew it out with air. I made sure the paper path was clear, I took thick paper through it to make sure there were no obstructions. I turned it back on and the remove paper jam error still comes back on. Any Ideas am I overlooking something?

Not anything specific as I'm not familiar with that model, but you might want to check the feed area to make sure the problem isn't there (worn rollers/pad, bad paper, broken tray). That's unlikely to be the problem if I understand you correctly, but if you haven't checked that already it shouldn't take very long.

Depending on how old the machine is, you might check to see if the fuser exit sensor is sticking, if that machine has one and you haven't checked it already. On the machines I have seen, the sensor is somewhere in the lower guide area where the paper exits the fuser, and I have seen the sensor's feeler stick in the actuated position sometimes on machines with old or rebuilt fusers.

That is most likely my fault, there is a big difference between a LJ 4600 and an OJ 8600, sorry for the confusion, however, I am familiar with the fuser jam switch sticking on the fuser of the LJ 4600 and I do appreciate the response, Iowatech.
