I have installed a new transfer belt assembly in an HP Color Laserjet 3700 printer, ser# cnfbb15973 that had a message saying there was less than 100 pages left on the transfer assembly. After installing the transfer assembly, I went into the resets menu and told it I had installed a new transfer kit. After restart a message comes up that says there is less than 2,000 pages left on the transfer belt ass. I have gone into the service mode and checked the transfer belt count and it is reset to 0. When I print a supply status page it says there is only 3% left on the transfer belt. I have retried resetting the transfer belt count several times, I have tried unplugging the printer, I removed the transfer assembly with the power on, let it initialize and then re-install the transfer assembly, nothing I do will reset the transfer belt count. What else can I do to reset the count.

Re: Need help resetting a counter HP Laserjet 3700
I'm not exactly sure where it is in the user menus, so print out a menu map and you'll see where it is. I am sure it is in the "Resets" submenu though, and then it is in "Reset Supplies" sub-submenu. I think the ITB is the last supply listed.
Hope that helps at least a little.Comment

Replacing the transfer unit when it is not at end of life
If you replace the transfer unit when it is not at the end of life, for instance if it is defective, you will
need to reset the transfer unit count and then calibrate the printer, through the control panel.
To reset the transfer unit count, do the following:
1 Press MENU to enter the MENUS.
2 Press to highlight CONFIGURE DEVICE.
3 Press to select CONFIGURE DEVICE.
4 Press to highlight RESETS.
5 Press to select RESETS.
6 Press to highlight RESET SUPPLIES.
7 Press to select RESET SUPPLIES.
8 Press to highlight NEW TRANSFER KIT.
9 Press to select NEW TRANSFER KIT.
10 Press to highlight YES.
11 Press to select YES.
To calibrate the printer, do the following:
12 Press MENU to enter the MENUS.
13 Press to highlight CONFIGURE DEVICE.
14 Press to select CONFIGURE DEVICE.
15 Press to highlight PRINT QUALITY.
16 Press to select PRINT QUALITY.
17 Press to highlight CALIBRATE NOW.
18 Press to select CALIBRATE NOW.
19 Wait for the printer to calibrate.
The transfer unit count is reset and the printer is ready to use.
