4060 MFP stuck in endless calibration

I have a customer that is quite a distance away after they changed the secondary transfer unit it went into and endless calibration. Is there something we can do over the phone to resolve it? Thanks in advance.

If the machine has a nic and it is a t615, it could be an issue. I have seen these cards go bad and lock the printer up even if it was connected by USB and not using the card.

actually that is a good question. Not wearing glasses made me see 4600 and assumed hp 4600, hence my answer. a google search came up empty.

Cust probably reported 4060, so that's what wester said. Likely a 4600. Or just a typo.

there is a hp cm6040mfp, hopefully the customer installed the transfer roller incorrectly and is messing up the reg and density marks on the transfer belt and they can't be read by the sensors. from what it appears in the manual the sensors for image calibration are at the left side of copier and 2nd transfer is at the right side .

The machine should be showing codes, but maybe only on the event log.

My apologies it is a HP 4060 mfp as reported to me. I had him reinstall the old transfer unit back in and same result still in the calibrating loop. I wonder if i should have him remove and reinstall the 1st transfer uni?

Um, I can't find any reference to the HP LJ 4060 MFP.
At least as far as all of my HP product sites report.
Any chance you could show a picture of the machine you are working on? That would be incredibly helpful.

Search on cm6040 it is the mfp version of cp6015 big color printer, about 2007, 2008 vintage, does 11x17 paper.

We know it's not a CLJ 4600 since they have no MFP unit. Sounds more like a CM6040. Try doing a factory reset or with the power off, remove the transfer belt and secondary transfer, then power on and add the supplies one at a time.
