[Error Code] Lexmark 610/ Source Technologies ST9720

    Good afternoon!
I have a customer with a Source Technologies ST9720 (Lexmark 610 DN). This machine needed a new image unit which has been installed. I'm getting a drum mismatch error because the Source Technologies has done something to the printer to block Lexmark supplies. Any way to make this printer think its a Lexmark again? Ive tried the factory reset. As a side note the machine will print reports and test prints when in service mode... Source technologies is not available in our area anymore.

    Thanks,
    Scott

    Scott,
dude that happens alot. Oki-Lex-Epson are the ones I can remember.

it has to do with NVRAM and a chip or three on ctl bd (in my cases)

expensive to swap back to org manufacture ..

Supplies for rebranded units are most costly than the OM.

but they have you by the "shorties" because you cannot use the OM supplies.

+ usually service parts (other than PM which they block also.) are also marked up, due to diff NVRAM and on board chips.

sorry charlie to be the bearer of bad tidings.
