Fax button does not appear.

• I can select and de-select "fax" on op panel and via the web interface under "home screen icons" settings
• I've re set to factory default
• I've enabled the initial setup routine on start-up routine and re-set up as if new.
• machine receives faxes and can send if I create a shortcut

Just no fax button so I can't do a one-off fax


Anyone? Even a wild-ass guess would be appreciated.

Since you have not had any other replies:

According to the service manual here is the wild-ass guess which you have likely already done.
Customizing the home screen
1 From the control panel, touch Settings > Device > Visible Home Screen Icons.
2 Select the icons that you want to appear on the home screen.
3 Apply the changes. "Be sure to hit the apply button"

We have carried Several of the lexmark models in the past but are more into the small Brother machines now.
Lexmarks have always been a pain to work with and on.
