[Error Code] CX860 Controller Control Panel Swap Dos and Donts

So I am trying to understand part swapping possibilities. Only general info needed. I have no actual scenario other than replacement of parts.

1. If an in-service machine is determined to have a faulty controller, and you have a fleet of spare machines.....what can you do?
2. Can you remove a user controller AND control panel from a parts machine and install to the machine needing repaired?
3. This is because the nvram would mismatch if both used parts were not swapped.
Is this a workable solution.....rather than buying a new control panel or main board.
4. if a machine is found with a faulty error coded hdd.......Can a USED HDD be swapped in and reformatted from a like machine model?

What are the rules surrounding such swaps of these models?

You can’t swap a controller pwb or a control panel pwb from another machine.

2. Can you remove a user controller AND control panel from a parts machine and install to the machine needing repaired?
No. If you do need to install a new controller pwb AND a new control panel you MUST do it one at a time. Install one pwb and power up. Shut down and install the other pwb and power up. You also have the option to install a pwb in a mode that will not lock the pwb to the machines. This option gives you the ability to see if a pwb is really the problem.

4. if a machine is found with a faulty error coded hdd.......Can a USED HDD be swapped in and reformatted from a like machine model?
I would only install a new HDD but I have never tried to install one from another machine.
