Typical problem in this model. If you have a good drum, replace the power supply (40X5362)
If you have electronic skills, I can indicate which element in the power supply could be damaged.

Which element on the power supply would cause this? We have a M3250 that will sometimes start printing solid black pages.

In this model there is no separate HVPS, High voltage circuit is integrated with LVPS. Those two little transistors marked on the picture are damaged very often. Result of the damage is high voltage on the drum and completely black pages.

But M3250 is a different model than E460.
Try to clean duplex sensor using compressed air , it could help.
