Have a Lexmark XC4153 that has a 284.11 doc feeder jam code that wont clear. I have looked at the paper path and there are no obstructions and the sensor flags are in good working order. if I cant figure out a next step to try i will be replacing the whole doc feeder. any help is appreciated.

Perform the following tests:- Enter the Diagnostics menu, [**36] and then navigate to:
Scanner diagnostics

Sensor tests
- Find the sensor (ADF media present).
Does the sensor status change while toggling the sensor?
The actuator spring gets weak and get stuck, or does not spring back . In your case the actuator may be disloged or the spring is not in place.
Some models, you can remove the rear and front cover, then the adf glass cover section and reinstall the actuator with proprer tension, one extra wrap or find a suitable replacement spring.
