how to scan to smb on a X738de

    Hi all,

Chasing some help on how to set up scan to net on a x738de. i thought you would of only needed the syntax to be:

    \\computername\sharename

however the web interface for the x738de is asking for a LDAP path and path suffix.

Is anyone able to give me an example on how it is to be filled out?

I cant press "OK" if the ldap details arent put in..

    Screen shot is as below:

    Scooby,

We have had lots of problems using the hostname when setting up the smb scanning. Have you tried using the server's IP address instead?
    \\192.168.0.10\sharename

The LDAP path attribute and suffix are not required. The 3 items you need to fill out are:
      1) name
      2) location (requires only the address)
      3) file name.

When you are done filling all 3, try to click away on any open space on the page to activate the OK button.

Make sure your print permissions do not just include "Everyone" in the shared permissions. Everyone in Windows is NOT everyone. Sometimes, DNS does not resolve if you do not include the proper credentials if you have your objects setup for user name and password authentication. Sometimes Windows NT or Windows 2000 - 2003 and so on, require authentication if you use DNS. Sometimes you need to do like the other post said, "set up the share with IP and the share name." It should look like \\192.168.49.X\share name. If you are using a domain, please enter it in and then Validate the Path.

If that still does not work, check those permissions. They are critical in what documents can be stored on that share folder.
