        Might be a difference in the USB level. This computerized fossil I'm using right now only has USB version one installed, and sometimes when I try to connect a USB version two device to it I get messages like that.

          i have tried it in several PC's - some are very modern - but still this message remains.

          maybe there is some kind of a special chip on the RIP board for the usb entrance that genrates voltage too high for the PC?
