[Misc] Difference in MFP and copier?

We are trying to determine if a Lexmark XS658DFE meets our qualifications as a copier. We mainly use the machine for walk-up copies. It looks like these machines are really more printers that copiers. Is that the case?

Put that model in the title of your thread to get a better answer

Mfp means it's networked or at least usb capable for printing and scanning. And possibly fax too

Basically MFP"s are scanners with printers attached.
You are looking for reliability and a good company backing it up.
