A client of mine has a T 640 it would not feed envelopes through the MP tray without a push. I changed the pickup roller and put an almost new sep pad in and now it double feeds or stream feeds the envelopes. Any ideas?

Sounds like the envelopes are out of spec. -

Is the pickup roller the proper one and the almost new pad, toss it and put in a new one. Almost new could have been sitting too long and become hard. The roller and the pad work together. When they are new the gap between the two is not so much. As they wear the gap becomes bigger and allows the envelope to go through. If the pad texture is a third party pad, some just dont work. Now like Iowatech said there could be a problem with the envelopes. Now there is one more possibility and I have only seen these machines a few times is the feed clutch. If it doesn't stop and makes another rotation you will now have your stream feed.Comment

rub the separation pad and make it more rough.The pad is probably the problemComment
