Long Edge has black lines on printing but not on SEF

I've had this copier for a while and interestingly I have had black line started popping up on top of my printing since last year. I tried replacing first with a brand-new toner which did not solve this issue.

When I put my documents in Tray # 1 LEF this happens:

should I buy a new black drum unit? Do you guys think that is the problem?

pull the black drum... probably on the back side edge you will find either a line ... also check the PCR for a line... then check ITB or fuser.

Are you also running the original through the feeder using the same orientation as the paper in the paper tray you are using? Looking at your examples, the line does not go edge to edge. A problem with the PCU or fusing unit would run edge to edge. I would say a spot on the slit glass.

I'm not sure what model you are working on but it could also be a charge roller. very common with Ricoh Color Boxes that use charge rollers.

The machine is MP C5000.

Feeding in same direction in Tray #1 and Bypass tray produces the exact same lines on top of the page. I have now scanned two PDFs that shows exact same issue.

If those were scanned directly to folder, email or removable media then it can only be dirty optics. Are you too lazy to clean the optics or an end user and do not know how to correctly and safely clean the optics.

No this is how it prints. Not scans. Scanning is fine. There is a black line on top which is what the issue is. Scanner is not the problem.

Then the problem is either in the PCU or the fusing unit. If it is the fusing unit you will need to rebuild it. If it is in the PCU you may need to replace the PCU. If the last time the Black PCU was replaced was before February 2012 it has the older style PCU and it will need to be replaced. See attached bulletin.

It may also just need to have the charge roller cleaned. See second attached bulletin. Though not mentioned in the bulletin you might want to insert a couple of layers of paper between the charge roller and the cleaning roller to help protect the cleaning roller from getting water on it.

Once the machine is up to PM standards applying the settings in the third attachment will help prevent future problems.

Also...Ricoh have stopped supporting the MPC5000 as of January 2020 so shortly parts will stop being available.
Might be time to shove them into a newer box?

Only if they are parts that are exclusive to the MP C5000.

Ok do a meter count printout on tray 1 if line is there it will be bk pcu
