Hi guys,
I am the local technician for a Canon IR ADV DX 5760i machine that the company I work for owns outright, and it is in a location that is not feasible to have a hired technician come out to service it, so I have to do it. So while I'm not technically trained on these machines, I have to do technician work on them. I've been doing this for about five years and I'm as good as most hired technicians (when I end up working with them at some locations where they do come, not in the middle of nowhere).
All that said, I'm trying to solve an issue whereby the scans from the glass are picking up more than the letter size page and leaving a gray border on the PDF that is produced. I've been through the obvious settings in service mode (COPIER > ADJUST > ADJ-XY), and I have adjusted every setting in there, which didn't handle the issue. I must be missing a setting somewhere. Using the edge erase in the Scan Options page is not feasible as that makes the user have to specify the paper size, when there are a variety of paper sizes copied on this machine.
So I'd like to get a service manual for the IR ADV DX 5700 series so I can find the setting I'm missing.
Thanks!
Bret
