    IBM Wheelwriter

I'm trying to find service manuals for these IBM typewriters. Right now I'm working on a Wheelwriter 6. I have operator's manuals, but nothing to tell me what the blinking lights mean.

The wheel spins, the carriage moves left a little, the wheel spins again, 6 beeps, then the 3 lights flash. The typewriter then stops responding to anything except power off and on.

          Thanks

Look for the model # stamped into metal at bottom 6747-11-******

That code appears to be a problem with "homing sensor"

Look for a tiny black plastic pin in the carrier lower section (on left side of carrier from typing position) It should move in/out on a spring, and contact the frame when the carrier is moved to far left side.
