Paper trays say no paper ....but when you send a job or copies it picks up paper from both trays and works.

What exactly does the screen say, and in what context?
"Load Paper" can mean that you haven't loaded the correct media type or correct media size to match the print driver request. It can mean that it is incorrectly identifying the original size. It can mean that it is incorrectly identifying the paper tray paper size.

1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I seem to recall that that machine comes with some strange defaults out of the box, like bypass tray as the default paper source. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
