i only have ver 3.01 of both system and user but i think the fiery has to have the win7 upgrade to use 3.01.

the dongle is to activate the graphic arts package. its not needed for standard use but if they want to run Impose then yes.
for ver 3.01 the upgrade kit includes a bios and ram to upgrade to windows 7.
