I know this code is eprom malfunctoin but what does that mean?

Never had that malfunction. Looks like there is a failure to communicate with the eeprom for some reason. The manual says

1. Reset the malfunction, turn OFF and ON the Power Switch, and unplug the
power cord and plug it back in.
2. Check the connection between IC3 of Master Board and EEPROM.
3. Change Master Board.
4. Change EEPROM.


I'd check all the cables, reseat connectors and the prom before replacing any components.
