Are you sure it isn't a 2403 code. Which is a toner bottle code.

You mean C 2403, not F 2403

Take a bite out of high priced service

Lookup the model, search the PDF there are solutions out there!

Refers to the toner bottle being installed wrong, possibly knocking the sensor in the rear loose, or the little red "cleaner brush" has lodged into the sensor.

There are a few mods out there now to prevent the toner from being installed wrong. The new locking ring system is by-far the only "fix" I have seen -- the others have been shoe-string and bubble gum in my opinion.

I have had the unpleasure of putting these mods into about 5 machines so far. what I have noticed is that the new boss cover do work. but you have to replace the toner bottle sensor as well (at least I had to in my situations) and it takes quite a while to get it out of the machine. not to mention the pwb, fuser and switchback units all have to be taken off. then the finisher and everything else... so if you are not a technician and you don't have the modified parts to fix this problem I would hire a technician to do this for you. but having fixed a few I do also believe the mods do work and are still working in my machines (knock on wood)
