Konica Minolta C300i - TCR issue

    Hi guys,

we have recently bought in a C300i 2nd hand with a total of 27k counter, the machine has constant 2558 errors, i have looked at the TCR Levels and there are ALL at 20% which is massively out.

before buying this machine someone must of replaced the ERB board for whatever reason as the original one is attached to the machine with no connector and the new one is 'hanging' onto the machine via the connector for the ERB board.

when these ERB boards are replaced it says you have to replace all consumable units is this correct? just wanted to get some info before replacing the consumable units.

the machine has the lastest firmware on.

I'm afraid the cost of replacing all consumables will be close to cost of machine.
If it was I will try to find a way to make machine do TCRs initialization probably by finding an aftermarket developer unit chips. This way you can hopefully revert levels to acceptable 6-7% range.

i have tried to run a load of 255 halftones but wont budge. do you think if i use a dev resetter it will push the TCR's back to normal?

Reset chips are cheap and unless the controller board is broken and that's why they put it in that machine it should get real percentages, it's not currently giving you real levels so doing 255 prints is useless

Yes it should work unless seller didn't swap other parts as L0rdC mentioned.

have you tried resetting background data and stabilize?
            then try gradations.

            The medication helps though...

Use new consumables to get values back in range then remove and re-chip them. After that install old consumables and tone up or down as needed and cross your fingers. 12% is the highest I have ever seen.... Guess 20% is the max value possible if all of them are on 20%. Could be electronics...

See if you can at least get K back in line before wasting any more.

guys using the dev resetter has forced the TCR's to be 6%

it came up with a 2414 error but the error goes once you've reset the machine!

                thank for your suggestions
