    c654 JPEG Check NG

    I cannot recall ever seeing an NG for this.
    The Service Manual is sufficiently vague on the subject so not sure what to do about it.
    Machine operates fine, I decided to do all the I/O checks on a whim.

      I'm relatively new here, so bear with me. Recently had the 'c654 JPEG Check NG' pop up, and like you, the Service Manual left me scratching my head. Machine's chugging along fine, but I decided to dive into the I/O checks just for kicks.

          are you scanning as PDF or JPG? assuming ur not scanning as JPG as thats uncommon does PDF work ok?

          considering the age of a c654 (non e) i would try replacing the hdd as mech hdd after like 10 years is pretty expected esp since the brand isnt usually one ive hear of. isnt it like HSGT or somethin

              HGST (Hitachi Global Storage Technologies) was actually a really good brand back in the day, prior to their acquisition by WD (Western Digital) in 2012.
