DESCRIPTION: Intermittent SC49-01.
CAUSE: Failed printer control board assembly.
SOLUTION: Ensure that the system code on the IP511 is at minimum version 6.2.0. Remove the IP511 from the main body and inspect the connection to the main body for any damage or pins out of place.
Reseat the IP511 onto the main body and verify operation. If the service code continues to occur, replace the printer control board assembly (p/n 13RN-7320).

I'm just an ex-tech lurking around and spreading disinformation!
I run a PC Technical Support Business and yesterday i was called to install a Pi6500e controller to a Minolta Di551 and i had no idea what to do at first because i have never dealt with copier machines before.
After doing some basic things i was caught with a SC56-04 error code when trying to print the configuration page with the controller plugged in.
I was reading there could be 2 problems:
- Physical and electronic serials not matching.
The solution was supposed to be entering 25 mode and changing the serials there, but only the main body, option tray and finisher were available, not the controller.
- Updating the firmware to allow the controller to be recognized.
Here, i don't have a clue where to start from. They didn't even provide me the cd/manual. I read that bely had it. Can you please be so kind to send it to me? killersilver [at] gmail [dot] com.
C49-01 is also caused by the operator switching off the copier and not shutting down the print controller before hand.
what happens is the print controller loses sync with the copier.
so before going too technical, goto the machine and shut down the controller, then switch off the copier on the rear on/off switch. leave for about 30 secs and then switch on the copier. I hope this helps.
