C253 Secure print jobs fail to authenticate

I know this use to work. A normal print job goes through. When I send a secure print with a simple ID/Password I get the failed to authenticate error. Anyone else seen this?

Pass ID or wrong, unregistered user, you should double check authentication steps in PageScope.

The ID and pass are simply 12345 for each. I do not have user accounts set up on this copier. Therefore I do not have authentication set up through PageScope. This was tested a few months ago and worked with out a hitch.

I do not understand your question, if you have no user registration, because you must send print with ID and Pass, or what maybe try to do is to print a file that is protective of security?

If I remember correctly this is the procedure I used.
Select secure print from print driver. I give the print job an ID and a password before I click print.
At copier touch the use document tab and select Secure Print User box.
At that point I am prompted for ID and password entered before I sent the print job.
When the correct ID/Password are entered the Job shows up on the job list and you select it and print it.
Now when I input the ID and password entered before I sent the print job (12345 for each) I get the "Failed to authenticate" message.

SECURE PRINT : Secure Print allows security to be imposed upon a document to be sent to the bizhubfor printing. The document will be “printed” to a
secure User Box and cannot be accessed, printed, or even viewed without first entering its authentication data at the MFP. Secure Print is a very powerful
feature as it allows security control of a document “on the fly”. The security data is imposed on the document in the print driver as a one-time function that
applies only to that specific printing of that specific document at that specific time. No prior programming is required to use Secure Print.
APPLICATIONS : The end user has a document prepared and wants to print the document to the bizhub, however, they do not plan on retrieving the
            document.

Before I get to Chromatik's list:
                1. Click print.
                2. Click properties.
                3. Select general tab.
                4. Select secure print from the pull down.
                5. Fill in the user data ID/Pass (12345 for both)
                6. Click Print and go to step one of Chromatik's list.
When I hit step 8. It fails to authenticate.
Kon-Min Support recommended format HDD. I'll post back if it works.

I understand, just post this list to expand, maybe as you say the HD is corrupt to some file that contains the same ID and pass different or the other way around, but well check out the options for printing secure in the manual.

                    hi,
Check that your printer drivers are up to date, drivers are not the same for V.2 and V.3
                    regards,

Drivers are the same as before. HDD format did not correct the issue.
While I was away from the copier another Tech re-initialized and it seems to be working again.
I wish I new what setting caused this in the first place.

Just a follow up. Konica Minolta Tech support told me this was caused by a corrupt user box.

i had a machine doing this exact thing when we but our NEC 45c4 (Bizhub C451) into generic mode through the soft switches. it was a nightmare and a total frustration to figure it out but that was our problem
