C203 Laser ASsemblies: One or Four?

Are they still sending the C203 printheads in four-packs or is it possible already to order just one? If so, what's the pn for one ph?

    Cheers!

If you're a dealer you should be able to get the FOC replacement kits which are all 4. I believe you may have issues replacing just 1 as the PHs are a matched set. Emujo

They come in a set of four. But you can just change the faulty one, and keep the three back for spares. We have done this quite a few times in the past as Konica Minolta are often sort of stock.

Thanks. That was exactly my idea. I just wanted to know if KM had somehow changed its policy and allowed us to order just the faulty PH and not the whole set.

        Cheers!

After you change any laser unit you can use an special firmware for this machine to solve the laser error code and see if an error code reappear or not.

Before! (Not after) almost every copier 203-253-353 (especially last 2) 2007-2008 has this problem and this firmware really helps avoiding laser unit changes

How did I miss this originally? I must've been sleeping....

That said, I recommend you change 4 as a set if you do the FOC program, though I think that has expired. See this post for my post on the subject....

The reason being, is there is a high likelihood that the remaining laser units may fail at some point and you will be forced to do the replacement again. This can be a major hassle as you no doubt already know, when replacing a unit.

                    It is your choice however...

On initial release it was required that all 4 be replaced as they were batched laser assemblies, this policy was changed however and you can now replace them individually

I agree, though I hate to take chances, and more to the point, hate doing the work like this more than once. Removing the units and replacing them is easy, its the getting to them that is tiresome.

yeah i with you on that one, depends on your budget i guess i would do them all personally as if i recall the notice about them involved faulty batches so the others are likely to fail.
