[CQ] Magenta background

I have a c552 which produces a print with magenta background noy all the time
it recently had full set of iu's and new MFP board
problem still there --only when printing copy/fax ok ???

- Color copies come out okay? Or just black ones?
- Does the magenta background covers the entire page or do you get a white border around the page?

Usually a colored background for me is caused by one or more of the following:

- Bad IU
- Bad connection between the IU and the HV board on the back of the machine (check those straight wires at the back of the machine for continuity)
- I've had a couple of cases where a black background was caused by a damaged flat cable on the back of the machine - but in that case the background was not solid but consisted of lots of wavy lines along the paper.

Post a scan of your problem and answer the two questions above.

Colour and B/W copys are ok
colour covers whole of page --fault is intermittent
