KMBH Pro C6500 firmware miss match with accessories and fiery ?

This install is turning into a marathon call.
I downloaded firmware for the fiery to the fiery, connected it to the
machine and it made a nice PS test page.
The fiery I have is the S450-04 model that sits on the floor. It sez "fiery"
on the front panel. It is white with black trim and has a door that covers
the pwr sw and CD drive.
Is this the IC305? I am not sure of what I have.

I hooked up the SD501 to the RU504 and then connected the
FS503 to the SD501. Nothing past the RU shows up on the
control panel.
The serial numbers have been inputted and the dip switches are in the
correct position.
I've been told I need the ISW tool to download firmware to the equipment
so all the firmwares in the accessories are compatible.
I also been told to just go direct to the machine with the thumb drive.
and I've heard the fiery is the problem
What am I missing?

Were these accessories previously installed on this 6500? Because they can go on the black and white high end models also, and their are jumpers that have to be changed. I have heard of the jumpers being in the wrong place and the output options not appearing on the panel. Don't think it has anything to do with the fiery. Also heard of people mixing up connectors on the relay unit and blowing numerous boards out. Their is a couple of plugs that sit close together and can get mixed up.

This unit came from a wholesaler. So it would be hard to say what these units were connected
to before this customer purchased them.
So far I don't believe I have crossed any connectors and the jumper plugs are not installed.
All the dip switches were in the C6500 configuration.

You should be able to just use a thumb drive for the firmware, i believe its version 60 on that model.

We had the same problem with a Bizhub Pro C6500P, that had a PF601, FS503 (or 501) and a Relay Unit + Creo IC408. It worked fine; one day, we wanted to test a Fiery IC408 on the machine and guess what: The fiery didn't recognyze any Optionals (nor FS, PF or RU). I think it's possible that some Controllers don't recognyze some of the machine optionals.

I have no idea what kind of Fiery that is. My problem was, the optionals were appearing on the screen, but I just couldn't print - because the Fiery wasn't recognyzing the optionals.
Now I understand that your optionals don't appear on the screen... that's a tough one... I would try to change the firmware... see what happens - you can't do any harm

What are the steps involved? I have the firmware and a thumb drive. I can open all the zip files
on the drive. Do I just plug it in and turn on the machine?
Have done this from just a thumb drive?
