I am working with a 1050 that we are trying to hook an SD-501 up to. I don't have an installation guide for the SD-501 so I'm not sure what the dip switch settings need to be. This was a working machine with an FS-503 hooked to it. We're also adding an fd-501 to it as well. If I hook the fs-503 and FD-501 they work fine together. But if I add the SD-501 in the mix it doesn't see any of the finishers. The machine has the latest firmware. The SD-501 S/N starts with 15Q so it should work with this unit. I have tried having all switches off on the SD-501 and I get error code 80-41- that says firmware error. I've tried 3 different SD-501s. If dip switch 1 is in the off position and 234 are up no error but doesn't see finisher. I hooked the SD-501 up by itself when trying to get it recognized. Any help would be appreciated.

Well I've followed the directions on the install manual for the SD-501. It still doesn't see the finisher. If Install it with all 4 dip switches down - as someone else on the board stated. I get error code 80-41 which is firmware not read. If I install it with switch 2 on and all others down no error code but no finisher either. My guess is that it needs a firmware upgrade maybe but it is a 15Q version so I would assume it would be ready to go. If it is the firmware does somebody have the upgrade required.
