    Biz 601 & Di 5510 developer units?

Has anyone ever used a Di5510 dev unit in a Biz 601? They have different part # but sure look the same. Only thing I could see different is one of the gears is different color and there is blue on the handles you pick it up by.

    Thanks

The smallest gear on the 5510 was prone to strip out. That is why they are different, they changed to a stronger design. They should work. I have used 650 boxes in 601s and 650's are the same as 5510's.

      Thanks fixthecopier,

That's what I thought. I will try it.

The reason the small gear teeth get chewed up is because the developer "shaft holder" (bushing/seal) leak developer. You have to replace the seal & gear at the same time otherwise will be back replacing that gear in a few months. You don't want to replace that small gear, especially when it cost $56 ! There is no way in hell K/M can justify charging $56 for a gear that is smaller than a dime, even if it has a small bearing inside!
