    C2225 doesn't accept new drum

    Hello,
First of all, thank you for reading this, I feel very lucky and happy to find this place to be exist.
I just had my very old IR C2225 black drum replaced with a new one, then I got a E000020-1360 Error. If I install the old drum back, the error is gone and it goes back to normal.
After some research and troubleshooting, including cleaning the laser glass by using the panel stick tool, And taking out the laser unit out from the side panel for cleaning, non of tricks worked.
Does anyone know how to fix it?

    Thank you again!

There are a few checks you need to do to resolve this issue.

    • Update the system software
    • Remove & open the laser unit to clean the polygon mirror & glass
    • Clean the patch sensors
    • Replace the ITB if near or over end of life.

If all this fails you can swap the chip from the old drum to the new one.

I did everything I could, including swap out the chip on the drum, but now I am getting a completely blank paper when printing.

Ok so, last try fit the old drum back with the new chip. If the errors clears you do, as stated above, have a faulty drum unit.

If you had the laser out and now get blank prints you might not have reconnected one of the ribbon cables properly.

This model had a tendency to blow the chip on a newly installed drum. -would swap the chip with the old one.

The blank printing could be cause the laser assy is unplugged -or the assy is not in the right spot; make sure the prongs are in. -if the entire laser is off the lasers won't hit anything at all. you can overshoot the position pretty easy.
