    Control Panel/ Printers/Lexmark

I replaced a Lexmark A4 with a new Toshiba A3 colour at a small law firm both equipped with four paper drawers.

    1- Letter- R
    2- Legal
3- Preprinted Trust cheques on LT size
4 - Preprinted General cheques on LT size.

I have made drawers 3 & 4 "Special" so that general documents cannot pull from this paper source by accident.

The Lexmark was installed with three print drivers available to the user. PCL6, a Trust Cheque driver that only pulled from Drawer 3 and a General Cheque driver that only pulled from Tray 4.

I have recreated the same with a Toshiba Universal 2 print driver but the driver icons retain the light coloured Lexmark printer icon and not the dark coloured Toshiba printer icon despite several print spooler restarts and computer restarts.

Any idea where this icon is coming from?

did you completely remove the lexmark drivers? reboot the PC? then install the drivers that you need?

Are there any other Lexmark printers physically still connected to the network that it is trying to "pool" with? Printer pooling was the original purpose of Universal Print Drivers. The entire pool took on the characteristics of the printer in the pool with the least features.

Any possibility that there's a rebadge of the device as a Lexmark that the driver has the data files for?

No rebadge. Totally different print driver.

The bigger challenge is to get three different instances of the same print driver displayed with three printer icons.

I want three icons one each for PCL6, Trust Cheques and General Cheques.

PCL6 can pull from paper drawer 1 and 2.
Trust Cheques pull only from paper drawer 3
General Cheques pull only from paper drawer 4.

I have tested and I think the key moments in installing the three seperate print drivers is when you go to add a printer, you select:

... add a printer using TCP/IP address or hostname.

            Followed by:

... when you add the printer you use "Have disk"

            Followed by:

            Add Printer

            ... replace the current driver

            Followed by:

... Under name printer, you give a description name like "Trust Cheque printer".
....Under Printer Preferences, select the printer to only pull paper from Tray 3, designated as "Special" for Trust Cheques.
